Kelly Fleming, LICSW

Clinician

I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) who supports children, adolescents, and families through anxiety, depression, trauma, emotional regulation challenges, life transitions and school‑related stress. My style is warm, collaborative, and down‑to‑earth. My work is rooted in psychodynamic and relational theories, to make sense of the why beneath the what. I use evidence‑based approaches—including CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, and trauma‑informed care—to help clients build insight, resilience, and practical coping skills.

My work is shaped not only by my clinical training, but also by my lived experience. As a parent of a child with a learning disability, I understand the emotional rollercoaster of navigating school systems, managing anxiety, and advocating for your child while trying to keep the rest of life afloat. I also know the unique pressures of being part of the “sandwich generation,” caring for both a growing family and an aging parent. These experiences have deepened my empathy and strengthened my belief in the importance of compassionate, accessible support.

Outside the therapy room, I’m a married mother of three grown children with two goldendoodles who think they run the house. I love walking in the woods, meditating, traveling, skiing, hiking, and being near water. I also love to dance, paint, and spend time with my girlfriends. I bring a sense of humor into my life and my work—because sometimes laughter is the thing that helps us breathe again.

About

I became a therapist because I believe in the healing power of being truly seen and understood. Throughout my own life, I’ve experienced being a child of divorce and being raised by a single mother.  I’ve navigated the challenges of parenting a child who learns differently, managing family anxiety, and balancing the responsibilities of caring for both children and an aging parent. I know how overwhelming it can feel to hold everything together while trying to stay grounded yourself.

These experiences inspired me to become the kind of support I once needed—someone who listens without judgment, understands the emotional weight families carry, and helps people find clarity, confidence, and hope. Becoming a therapist allowed me to combine my natural empathy, my clinical training, and yes, my sense of humor. I believe therapy can be a place where we explore hard things while also making room for lightness, relief, and even laughter.

I feel honored to walk alongside children, teens, and caregivers as they navigate challenges, discover strengths, and build healthier, more fulfilling lives. This work is meaningful to me because it connects my personal journey with my professional purpose—and because I truly believe that with the right support, people can grow in ways they never imagined.
